the story behind fun & fit

Several years ago, I went through an impactful phase of personal growth and self-development. I have always been interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, however, had not truly committed to any routines in exercise or diet. Lots of excuses ranging from a busy schedule, lack of energy, cost, etc. I started out slow, committing to one workout a week with an accountability partner. This evolved into consistent weekly training which in turn, increased my awareness of my daily habits and lifestyle. As my confidence in fitness grew, so did my confidence in my abilities and self-worth. After years of consistent weight training, I found a passion for bodybuilding. Being so committed to this process instilled discipline, structure, and self-worth into my life. Realizing I was capable of incredibly challenging things, I knew I needed to apply that perspective to all areas of my life. I knew I wanted to accomplish great things, and to do this I would need to perform to the best of my ability each and every day.

Recognizing the value and transformation fitness had on my life, I knew I wanted to impart that to my clients as well. In July of 2020, I started my niche practice of fitness based Occupational Therapy. At this time, schools were closed due to Covid-19 and there were very limited options for physical activity within the special needs community. Our services provided a much needed physical outlet for our kiddos as well as a friendly social environment during a time of daily unknowns. My vision is to change as many children's and families' lives as possible, through therapeutic intervention and fitness. Ultimately- instilling confidence, self-worth, and fulfillment in their daily lives and the belief that anything is possible.
